What everyone is asking...

What wood are you using and why?

I hand select every piece of wood locally. All wood is kiln dried so you can be confident in the stability or movement at the time of me creating products for you. I try my best to use locally available and sustainable woods. My favorite woods to work with are:

Black Walnut

Hard Maple, or Bird's Eye Maple for added character

White Oak

Cherry

Zebrawood for exotics...personal favorite for beautiful straight grain.

What is the finish?

I use two different finishes on all my products. I will specify which on each product I sell.

  1. The first and most robust for contact with heat, water, and high touch is Rubio Monocoat: A plant-based hardwax oil wood finish that is 0% VOC.
  2. The second finish is Tried and True Original Wood finish: A penetrating linseed oil and natural bees wax for added liquid and water protection. I use this on wood turning and lower touch products like my dice boxes.

How do I care for my wood products?

I choose my wood finishes to be easy care, and more importantly easy repair. I acknowledge this may be your first solid wood product that does require care, I am here to help you and help with any questions / concerns!

  • Wood can be cleaned with a damp cloth or any wood cleaning product.
  • Any product with moving parts, bees wax can always be added to renew function.
  • Finish can be repaired and easily matched. Please reach out to me with concerns / questions.
  • Avoid direct UV light exposure. Wood color can change dramatically over time. This isn't always a bad thing, an aged patina can be lovely!

Wood is a living thing, and will change with the seasons

Try your best to avoid major and rapid temperature / humidity changes. Over the seasons wood movement is normal. I design my products with this in mind, however on rare occasions fit of sliding parts may become an issue. Contact me if this is a concern for you or with issues. I absolutely stand behind the products I make.

Warranty and Guarentee

I stand behind everything I make. Your product is guaranteed against any mistakes I made, or failures in the design. Always reach out and we can discuss what is going on!
