Design & Construction

The Brewmancer Hex Dice Box is a handmade wooden storage piece designed for tabletop use, where fit, material continuity, and durability matter. The hexagonal form is driven by geometry and efficiency rather than ornamentation, resulting in a compact and stable box that feels balanced both in hand and on the table.

The overall form is CNC-generated to establish symmetry, alignment, and repeatability. From there, each piece is refined by hand to control surface quality, edge definition, and final feel.

Engineering Details

Single-Piece Construction

Each Hex Dice Box begins as a single block of solid wood. The lid and base are separated only after the primary form is established, allowing the grain to flow continuously from the bottom of the box through the lid. When closed, the two halves read as one uninterrupted piece of material rather than separate components.

Material-Preserving Lamination

A lamination step is used during construction to preserve as much usable material as possible between the two halves of the box. This process intentionally introduces diamond-shaped elements of a contrasting wood species, which function as the nesting and alignment features between the lid and base. These elements are structural first and visual second, integrated into the geometry rather than applied as decoration.

Felt-Lined Interior

Both the lid and base cavities are lined with 100% wool felt. The felt protects both the dice and the wood surfaces while adding contrast and softness to the interior. It also resolves a critical design constraint: avoiding visible CNC machining marks inside the cavities. Extensive sanding proved inconsistent once finish was applied, and the felt lining allows the interior to remain clean, durable, and intentional.

Material & Form

Each box is made from carefully selected solid hardwood. Species selection influences visual character, but not function.

Grain, color, and figure will vary naturally from piece to piece. Photos represent examples only and are not a guarantee of exact appearance.

Brewmancer Perspective

The Hex Dice Box follows the same design philosophy as all Brewmancer pieces: engineered for purpose, refined by hand, and designed to perform without distraction. CNC processes are used where precision matters; hand work is used where it improves feel and finish.

Subtle Brewmancer branding is applied to the underside of the box, identifying the piece without interrupting the tabletop experience.

Hand-Finished Surface

All visible surfaces are sanded smooth by hand to refine feel and preserve crisp edges after machining.

Subtle Branding

Brewmancer branding is applied discreetly to the underside of the box, identifying the piece without distracting from tabletop use.

Because wood is a natural material, grain patterns, color, and figure will vary from piece to piece. These variations are part of what makes each deck box unique and are not considered defects.

Flat rate $9.99 shipping within the United States. All deck boxes are made in small batches and are ready to ship unless otherwise noted. Orders are typically processed within 1–3 business days. Shipping times may vary based on location and carrier.

Returns:

If there is an issue with your order, please contact us within 30 days of delivery. Returns are accepted for unused items in original condition.

Due to the handcrafted nature of our products, natural wood variations are expected and do not qualify as defects. Custom or altered items are not eligible for return.
