Design & Construction

The Brewmancer Wooden Dial and Hopper Cap is a handcrafted wooden replacement set designed specifically for the Fellow ODE Grinder (Generation 1 and 2). The goal was to create a slim, precise, and visually integrated control interface that complements the grinder’s form without compromising usability.

The dial is engineered to align accurately with the ODE’s grind indicators, allowing repeatable adjustment while introducing a tactile wood surface. Contrasting wood inlays are positioned to track cleanly with the factory markings, maintaining clarity while improving visual cohesion at the coffee bar.

The hopper cap features a shallow recessed profile to seat securely on both Generation 1 and Generation 2 ODE hoppers. The fit is intentional and restrained—secure without interference, and visually aligned with the grinder’s existing geometry.

Material & Process

Dial geometry and inlay placement are CNC-generated to ensure alignment and consistency across both ODE generations. Stock selection is deliberate, with grain orientation chosen so the wood flows naturally with the dial indicator.

All visible surfaces are hand-sanded to remove machining marks and refine the feel of the part. This final step is critical to maintaining a handcrafted finish without softening edges or losing definition.

Available wood options include:

• Walnut for rich tone and subtle grain
  
• Oak for a lighter, structured appearance
  
• Bird’s Eye Maple for tight grain and natural visual complexity
  

Because each piece is made from solid wood, variation in grain and figure is expected and intentional. Photos represent examples of available species and are not a guarantee of exact appearance.

Brewmancer Perspective

The Fellow ODE Grinder stands out for its modern form and countertop presence, and this project began with the goal of matching that design intent using wood. Through trial, refinement, and reverse engineering, the dial and cap were developed to integrate cleanly with both Generation 1 and Generation 2 grinders.

Precision machining is used where alignment matters. Hand work is used where feel and finish matter. The result is a functional upgrade that preserves the grinder’s usability while adding material warmth and visual continuity with other Brewmancer accessories.

Subtle Brewmancer branding is applied to the underside of both the dial and hopper cap, identifying the pieces without distracting from the grinder or surrounding workspace.

Installation Notes

Each ODE Wooden Cap and Dial is handcrafted from solid hardwood and finished by hand to enhance durability while preserving the natural character of the wood.

Care Instructions:

• Wipe clean with a dry or lightly damp cloth

• Avoid prolonged exposure to moisture

• Do not submerge in liquid

• Store in a dry environment away from extreme heat

Because wood is a natural material, grain patterns, color, and figure will vary from piece to piece. These variations are part of what makes each deck box unique and are not considered defects.

accepted for unused items in original condition.

Due to the handcrafted nature of our products, natural wood variations are expected and do not qualify as defects. Custom or altered items are not eligible for return.
